04/09/2010 Denbigh Goods Version 1.1
Version 1.1
Activity amended to reflect the beefed up bolier pressure on the 7200 class. You require version 1.1 of these locos.
You should now be able to be departing from Gwyddelwern for Corwen at 10:40 or more probably a few minutes later.
This is a BR steam goods activity for the Bala Hub 4.2 DVD.
You need to nurture the boiler pressure in this activity or you may get stuck on Hendre Summit. This comment applies to AI fireman, I'm not sure about manual firing.
In the final run, Ruabon can easily be reached with decreased pressure.
The extra stock required (2 items) is shown below.
It was tested using BIN 1.7 and TSection 38.
Many thanks to Pilots (Jim Ashman) for giving it a test. |

03/09/2010 Class 390 - Airport special service
British Railways wants to improve their service and for a test a Class 390 in full setup is running from Glasgow Central to the Airport. There is no fixed timetable, but don't be late. People need to catch their planes! At the Airport be sure to drive to the very end of the tracks, your consist just fits into the platform. (easy, 20 Minutes)
Nothing too special awaits you, there is some AI traffic, but no surprises. Well, one maybe ;-)
Addons needed:
Glasgow Airport Rail Link
Class 390 DLC
english and german language available
*UPDATE* Sorry! For creating the screenshot I placed a 390 at the Airport station. It should not have been there in the scenario, because I didn't save the changes, but somehow it survived. Corrected version without that train is now uploaded. It will overwrite the previous version.

02/09/2010 Alternative Terrain Textures for RailWorks
This is a complete set of alternative terrain textures for RailWorks with instructions on how to create your own Blueprint. Much of the work related to the development of these textures is shown in this UKTS thread -
http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic.php?f=304&t=106824
Due to the way RailWorks is designed, you cannot just add new textures to existing routes, so you need to bear this in mind before downloading this large file. Ideally you will be creating a new terrain blueprint at the same time as you are creating a new route template for your new route. In addition, it helps to have some knowledge of creating Blueprints and an understanding of the way the RailWorks files are structured.
The file contains sets of terrain texture files in .tga and .ace format together with procedural flora texture files in several formats that you can work on yourself if you wish.
There is also a mini tutorial on how to create your new terrain blueprint.
I have not included instructions on how to make your own textures but there are links included to instructions on how to do this, including the original tutorials from Derek Siddle (RSderek) which inspired me to try and create my own textures in the first place. |

30/08/2010 1951 Bath - Templecombe 4F passenger.
Scenario No. 17.
A steam hauled scenario for the Bath - Templecombe S&DJR route, in 1951.
The other evening reading an article on the S&DJR, I discovered that the 4F was restricted to six coaches, but were frequently used in pairs during the busy summer period. I found that six coaches was quite challenging, so added another coach and another 4F and here is the result.
Pick up passengers at, Bath, Radstock, Shepton Mallet, Evercreech Junction and end at Templecombe.
